The Finch who lost her wing is my first children's picture book.

One night in 2019, I came across a photograph of a Gouldian Finch by Leila Jeffries. I remember gasping at the colours - the turquoise and the purples, the sharp eyes and the proud chest. Soon after, I wrote the story about our little friend, Goldy Finch.

I am currently working on other children's book stories. I am also writing a novel but a novel is proving to be a very slow process.

If I could quit my day job and write full-time, I would. But for now, I write emails and contracts at work, and at home I write Post-it notes to my family.

But as Anne Lamott puts it so eloquently, "Bird by Bird."

So, bird by bird, it shall be.
